I stayed here for two nights to visit friends and family. The hostel is right across from Edinburgh Waverley Station and very close to the city centre and there are plenty of restaurants and bars around. I stayed in an all female 12 bed dorm where everyone was very friendly, staff were brilliant and the room and bathroom were really clean. There were lockers in the room and curtains around the bunk beds for more privacy which were useful, and social distancing was in place.

Hi there team, my button popped off my jeans in the room 25 shower room but I didn't notice until later given my use of a belt. Did your cleaning staff find it and do y0u have a wee pot of lost buttons through which I might rummage? Best regards, Ji

Lovely stay, with lovely staff. The private room I stayed in was quiet for the most part, and super comfy. The walls and floor were a bit dirty but for the price and location I was perfectly content. Would definitely stay again!

    Fabulous

The best thing about this hostel is the location. I also really enjoyed that the windows could open wide to let fresh air in and the complimentary towel. The view from the room was amazing! Unfortunately, there was only one outlet for me to charge my phone in the entire room (4 person dorm). This really surprised me in a modern hostel and it was frustrating to have to manage my battery levels both during the day and at night in the room.

A very good hostel considering the price. The location is ideal, as are the options for securing belongings. Only criticism would be the extra cost for breakfast - as a budget traveller it is always a plus when this is included!

    Fabulous

Nice hostel in a great location extremely close to the train station and close to everything in Old Town. Don’t purchase through Hostelworld if you want breakfast though. They advertise free breakfast but don’t supply it unless you booked through the St Christopher’s website. Also not the best place if you’re a light sleeper. Bar across the road can be loud and staff also did nothing to stop an extremely loud group drinking outside until about 5am. Also bring your own towel.

Staff were rude and unpleasant. Should be more single gender rooms not mixed. No lock on the lockers making leaving your stuff feel very unsafe.
