We slept in the 20 person dorm for one night and it was a pretty good experience. Everyone was respectful and quiet, and the bathrooms are outside in the hall. There are plenty of bathroom stalls for everyone. There is a laundromat inside the building but it is pretty expensive. There are lockers by the dorms, but you have to bring your own key. There are also lockers downstairs. They make you show your key everytime you come in, and they always give you fresh sheets.

I really enjoyed my stay at stayokay, it was in a great location and they staff were very friendly and helpful. They had great breakfast options, they also had dinner/lunch options. I would definitely recommend stayokay to someone travelling on their own looking for somewhere to stay

First, the location was perfect and also what really amazed me was that despite the fact that it was in the center of the city, it was really peaceful. Furthermore, I have no words to describe all the other facilities. They were spectacular.

Nice hostel, however, upon arrival our booking had 'gone missing'. Once I had shown my confirmation emails and deposit paid, they were able to find rooms, but the two bed private room was no longer available so 2 of our party had to go into a shared dorm. The reason for booking the private rooms was it was the end of our trip and wanted a decent nights sleep, unfortunately as a result we were kept awake by people's phones. Hostel offered 50% off drinks and free breakfast to compensate.

A little pricey but nice place! Over all a good hostel, very large! The reception dtaft were friendly and the hostel itself was clean! The bar area was actually lovely although perhaps activities coukd be arranged? Doesnt seem super friendly for solo travellers! The bathrooms were large and a shower always available....awesome! As for the room....beds comfortable and sturdy! Perhaps only downfall was no aircon....large rooms means it gets stuffy! Overall good but expensive

I called to change my reservation and thought i was all set, the person messed it up completely and added another person to my reservation rather than an extra night. Checking in was a nightmare, the guy was either very high or had zero clue what he was doing. It took forever, he kept messing up our keys. The bathrooms are two levels up and absolutely filthy dingy and disgusting. Our room was pretty gross as well and there was a mouse running around in it.

Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is all about location, location, location - we're in a monumental canal house on one of the canals near the Red Light District. You'll be right in the centre but it's still quiet enough to have a good night's sleep.
There's so much to see within 350 metres of our hostel, like the Red Light District, Rembrandtplein, the famous flower market, Nieuwmarkt and more. During the day I definitely recommend checking out the flea market at Waterlooplein or taking a boat trip through the canals. At night then I usually tell people to go to the famous club, Escape, on Rembrantplein, or to the smaller club, Studio 80, on the same square. We have free walking tours to help you discover it all! Plus, our reception has museum tickets available at discounted prices. Rob, Manager
