The Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen hostel is located in a perfect location in the center of historic Amsterdam, and is walking distance from the train station in Amsterdam Centraal. Check-in was quick and easy, and the accommodations were perfect for what I was looking for during my two-night stay. The staff at the front desk and the bar were friendly, and the bathroom was clean. Definitely would recommend to other travelers.

Amazing location, close to everything but not on a main busy street so was quiet at night. All staff were super friendly and helpful. The bar was exceptional, huge area, really well decorated and furnished, calm, peaceful, relaxing, really nice area to wind down and relax. Play pool, read books, have a couple drinks or just use some wifi. Beds were clean, showers were hot. Can't avoid the snorers, just bring ear plugs. Lockers were huge, wifi was strong in rooms, plugs by every bed. Perfect!

I would recommend lowering some of the mirrors to accommodate shorter guests. Otherwise, overall great stay! Friendly staff, perfect location, and very clean.

Clean hostel with everything you need for a few nights. Safe and secure with 24hr reception. Luggage storage is available for a small fee which was really helpful for us. If you’re looking for somewhere with a great atmosphere this might not be for you, as the hostel bar closes around 11 every night, and the nightly events don’t always happen (it seems to be at the whim of the staff). Overall, definitely good value for money and I’d recommend as long as atmosphere isn’t super important to you.

The hostel is very well located. Close to most of the historical and touristic places in Amsterdam to visit. You don't need public transport to go anywhere. The place has a great atmosphere and reasonable price at the bar. Really recommend if you want to know about Amsterdam city centre. Regards,

Reasonably good stay. Close to city centre and everything is walking distance. Staff were friendly but didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Bathrooms could be a lot cleaner. Not bad value for Amsterdam

    Very Good

Nice ambiance but people do not interact much as it feel just like a lodge. The hostel do not have lift so if unfortunately you’re on the 2nd or 3rd floor with heavy luggage, one would die just climbing and getting down the narrow stairs. We booked twin private but got bunk beds room for 5 people. Some miscommunication which can be an area of improvement. So your stay is going to be just Okey and Not Great.

location is great and room & bathroom were clean enough. however, if you are looking to meet people and party while in Amsterdam i highly recommend to NOT stay here. there were tons of older people in the hostel and the staff was not the friendliest. it was my first time staying in a 20 person room, and will definitely be my last considering all the noise. I would never stay at this hostel again. absolutely zero vibes here

The location was good and staffs were friendly. However, there’s no elevator so we needed to carry our luggage to third floor. The room was not sound-proof and the lock was broken, we can’t lock the door inside, which made us feel not secured. What worse was, on the last morning, the staff abruptly opened our door before check-out time. I understands that they wanted to remind us about checking out, but it was not respectful. Overall, I won’t recommend this hostel.

Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is all about location, location, location - we're in a monumental canal house on one of the canals near the Red Light District. You'll be right in the centre but it's still quiet enough to have a good night's sleep.
There's so much to see within 350 metres of our hostel, like the Red Light District, Rembrandtplein, the famous flower market, Nieuwmarkt and more. During the day I definitely recommend checking out the flea market at Waterlooplein or taking a boat trip through the canals. At night then I usually tell people to go to the famous club, Escape, on Rembrantplein, or to the smaller club, Studio 80, on the same square. We have free walking tours to help you discover it all! Plus, our reception has museum tickets available at discounted prices. Rob, Manager
