I stayed there just for a couple of days. The hostel is very nice, it has a volleyball court and a backetball ring. It’s two blocks away (5 min) from the beach. The atmosphere was excellent!! I really enjoyed my stay! I highly recommend to book a room with ac.

One of the better hostels I have stayed at in Australia. Very nice that they have free (unsecured though) luggage storage. Place was very clean but that is due to having to put a deposit for plates, bowls, and cutlery.. more hostels should look into this from what I have seen. Would definitely stay here again.

The building is kind of cool, old military barracks. Walking distance to most places in the CBD and not far from a train station. Facilities and atmosphere are standard for large urban hostels in Australia. Small outdoor bar area in front.

Safe and easy access to city and good price but plate and cutlery situation for breakfast was not explained at check in and no food was left when I went up for breakfast the next day. I had to make 3 rounds before I could get some breakfast. First for food, then for crockery and then for spreads for my toast....

    Good

Wasn't very clean. There were hairs all over the sink that hadn't been cleaned for the 2 nights I was there. On our floor there was one female toilet and shower for the whole floor. They have a bar but there's not really a bar area/place to sit and socialise. The hostel was very big and quite cool being in old barracks, however it is very maze like and lots of rooms so I didn't feel like the space was good for socialising. Staff were great, very helpful and nice.

It's an old army barracks.. as a veteran i've stayed in worse, however as a traveller it's meh. Guy came to report his backpack got stolen to reception as I checked in.. lady staff seemed hesitant in helping him, either she didn't care or cause there wasn't much that could be done for him (not sure what became of the situation). That kinda set the mood for my stay. (Go to S******, hands down best hostel ever. My booking there ran out and they had no more beds, only reason I switched)

Room was ok but the bedsheets were covered in long black hair, there was also constant noise either from the road outside or from the corridor inside. Bed was the most uncomfy hostel bed I’ve ever experienced and the pillow was the thinnest thing in the world. Kitchen was disgusting and a shambles really, and the free breakfast was almost non existent if you didn’t get there before 7am. Bathrooms were vile, mouldy green shower heads and the water pressure was so low u couldnt wash your hair
