Summary of traveller reviews

a&o Berlin Kolumbus offers a budget-friendly stay, though some guests find it a bit far from the city centre. The room itself wasn't so bad, but our bathroom had a horrible smell from its clogged toilet that had been stuffed with plastic bags along with poop before we even got there. We told the staff down at the reception about it, but they told us to flush it when it only made it even worse. Then later someone knocked on our door telling us "Security, open up" when there were no reason for security to come to our room so we decided not to answer the door at first, but no one was there when we opened.

I was placed on the 8th floor and it was miserably hot. The windows wouldn’t open, and obviously no fan. Didn’t help that there was no privacy screens for the beds.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. We had a private room which was lovely and was a really clean, good quality room for the price in Berlin! Compared to other hostels we’ve stayed in, it had great facilities and felt like somewhere we could come back to and relax at the end of a busy day in the centre. The tram route around 10 mins away from the hostel connected us directly to the centre so was super easy to explore. The staff were very friendly and would recommend this hostel !
