Stayed for three nights which was more than enough. Had a mixed room and as a female I didn’t really feel safe so I moved to another hostel for my last night in Edinburgh. The rooms were alright but quite gritty and dirty and the female bathroom was so tiny and cramped you couldn’t really be more than 2 people, and one of the toilet doors didn’t close properly. The bathroom also felt a bit dirty. Can’t complain on the location and the staff was nice.

The staff were quite unfriendly during check-in, which made for a poor first impression. My room key didn’t work, and a maintenance staff member had to assist me in getting a functioning key. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom were also unhygienic, with a noticeable smell of body odour and dirt. The bathrooms were constantly flooded and never properly cleaned. The rooms smelled the whole week I was there and other guests were inconsiderate, talking on the phone and turning lights on in the middle of the night. I even walked into the shared restroom to see a guy peeing on the floor with the stall open.
