Free Cerveza is a fun glamping hostel located right on the beautiful shores of Lake Atitlan. Our awesome lakefront property overlooks 3 of Central America's most famous volcanoes - San Pedro, Atitlan, and Toliman.

We have a bar fully stocked with all of your favorite alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) beverages, a full breakfast, lunch & dinner menu prepared by our gourmet Mayan chefs.

We offer private glamping options (1-3 people) as well as our very popular cozy lakehouse which sits out on the water. All types of accommodation are fully set up with electrical power and warm blankets.

All guests can enjoy unlimited use of Free Cerveza's facilities and equipment. You can sunbathe and swim off of our private docks, enjoy unlimited use of our stand up paddleboards and innertubes, zen out with our yoga mats on our lakefront platform, or join in on one of our fun daily activities! We also have limited access to WIFI - although we promise, you will find a better connection with the people and the atmosphere.

In a mission to protect our beautiful environment, the owners built this property with love, using eco-friendly materials and technology such as compost toilets, recycled wood, and glass bottles, and LED lighting.

Free Cerveza is located in Santa Cruz la Laguna on the northern shore of Lake Atitlan, only a 10-minute boat ride from the main dock at Panajachel. You can even ask for the driver to drop you off directly on our private dock!

Really wanted to love this hostel. Great views, food was delicious, free paddle boarding was so fun and volunteers were great! However, bare in mind there is no kitchen, the tents get super damp if it’s raining and so so hot when it’s sunny, and there’s not loads of comfy places to chill outside of the main eating area especially when it rains.

if ur visiting the lake there’s no better place to stay than Free Cerveza! staff/ location really make this place - shout out to the amazing Danny, Georgie, Alex, Greer, Max, Camille, Jojo, Liv, Gabby, Sophie, Annie, Rudy, Maria & Has! Only downside - 10pm cut off - bar closes at 10pm then immediately quiet time which is odd - could do with a 30min window between bar closing and light out - also the american receptionist in the cap is extremely rude to staff & guests :( + food could be better

Definitely an overhyped spot. First of all, there is no way you can stay in the tent before 8-9pm because it is a literal sauna. For the amount we pay, they could use small ventilators. The beds are extremely dirty. The whole vibe of the hostel is pretentious and the volunteers are so clique-y, side eyeing the customers and doing fake smiles. They kick out everyone at 10 pm from the common area so there is literally no where else to go but the bed so they tell you to walk to another hostel..
