Looking for an affordable, friendly base for exploring Eryri (Snowdonia)? Lodge Dinorwig is a small, independent hostel on the edge of the national park, with fantastic views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Llanberis and across to Anglesey.

We’re a little off the beaten track, but that’s part of the appeal. There’s free parking, a bus stop right outside the door and plenty of walking and cycling straight from the hostel. It’s a great base for climbing Yr Wyddfa, exploring the slate landscapes around Llanberis and Dinorwig, or simply getting out into the mountains.

The building was originally a village school and was converted into a hostel by us, Sonni and Simon, in 2015. We’ve kept many of the original features, giving the hostel a character and homely feel that you won’t find in a large chain hostel.

## Your stay
We have one spacious 14-bed bunk room with comfortable handmade bunk beds. Each bed has its own privacy curtain, reading light and USB socket, and there are lockers just outside the bunk room for your belongings.

After a day in the mountains, you can relax in our cosy communal lounge, swap stories with other guests or start planning tomorrow’s adventure. There are hot showers, drying facilities for wet walking gear and plenty of space to settle down and relax.

## Breakfast included
Breakfast is included with every stay. We serve a proper cooked breakfast between 8-9am, giving you a good start before heading into the mountains.

Heading out early? Just let us know and we’ll prepare a continental breakfast for you instead.

We also offer homemade two-course dinners and packed lunches, which can be booked in advance. Our packed lunches include a sandwich, fruit, crisps and homemade flapjack.

There’s no self-catering kitchen, but guests can use our kitchenette with a microwave, toaster and kettle, along with our tea and coffee station.

## Getting here
We’re in Dinorwig, near Llanberis and right on the edge of Eryri National Park.

If you’re driving, there’s free parking at the hostel.

Travelling without a car? There’s a bus stop right outside our front door, with services connecting the area to Caernarfon, Beddgelert and other parts of Eryri. It’s worth checking the bus times before you trave.

The nearest shop is around a 20-minute walk away, so it’s a good idea to bring any snacks or supplies you might need.

## A great base for the mountains
From the hostel you’re ideally placed for exploring some of the best walking in North Wales, including Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Dinorwig Quarry, the Snowdon Ranger and Rhyd Ddu areas, Moel Eilio and the wider Eryri National Park.

We’re always happy to help you work out where to go and how to get there. We don’t organise trips or guided walks, but we know the local area well and are more than happy to share our favourite routes and places to visit.

Lodge Dinorwig is a small hostel run by two people, rather than a big chain. We live nearby, cook your breakfast, make your coffee, prepare your dinner and are usually around to help you make the most of your time in the mountains.
