We are a beachfront boutique surf camp located in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, offering a variety of surf packages designed especially for beginner surfers who want to experience the surf lifestyle without sacrificing comfort.

Iguana Surf has been part of Tamarindo’s surf community since 1989. We recently completed an exciting renovation and expansion of our property. Our upgraded 12-room boutique beachfront hotel now features elevated suites, modern finishes throughout the building, and a NEW rooftop pool with panoramic ocean views—the perfect place to relax after a day in the water.

Our guests enjoy smaller, more intimate surf groups and social settings rather than a spring-break-style camp experience. Think comfortable beds instead of hammocks, air conditioning and hot water instead of ocean baths, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy Tamarindo’s nature and wildlife outside your sleeping quarters.

The center of Tamarindo is just a five-minute walk away, while the beach is only about 30 seconds away, directly across the street. You will not need a rental car or golf cart to explore Tamarindo, but we can help arrange one if you would like to discover more of the surrounding area.

Parking at Iguana Surf is typical of a Costa Rica beach town. We do not offer private or secured parking. Guests park in the public beach parking area directly in front of the hotel, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If private or secured parking is important to your stay, please take this into consideration before booking.

You will be just steps away from the beach, Tamarindo’s best surf breaks, shops, cafés, restaurants, and nightlife.

Tamarindo is a vibrant surf town known for its beautiful white-sand beaches and world-class surf. Its welcoming community is made up of people from all over the world.

Upon arrival, the credit card provided will be pre-authorized to cover any incidental charges incurred during the stay.

Guests agree to be personally responsible for any outstanding charges incurred during their stay.

We reserve the right to charge guests for damage caused to hotel property or for items removed from the premises without permission. Charges may be applied to the guest’s credit card or sent through an invoice.

• Check-in: 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Check-out: Before 10:00 AM
• Reception hours: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Late check-out may be available upon request and is subject to availability. A $25 fee applies to cover additional cleaning hours and transportation.

𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗬 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗦

• Please keep noise to a minimum after 8:00 PM.
• We are an eco-friendly establishment. Please help conserve water and electricity by reusing towels and turning off the air conditioning, fans, and lights whenever you leave the room.
• Keep all doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is running.
• Treat the property, common areas, staff, and other guests with respect.
• The possession or use of illegal drugs on the property is strictly prohibited.
• Outside visitors are not allowed on the property unless written permission has been granted by the hotel.
• For everyone’s safety, we reserve the right to deny access to visitors who are not listed on a reservation.
• Please use the outdoor showers at the surf shop to remove sand before entering the hotel or your room.
• Do not take room towels to the beach. Iguana Surf beach towels are available for purchase at the surf shop for $25 and make a great souvenir.
• Iguana Surf is a non-smoking property. Smoking on the premises may result in fines and eviction from the property.
• No pets are allowed.
• There is no curfew.

By accepting these terms and conditions, guests acknowledge that failure to follow the property rules may constitute a breach of contract and may result in removal from the property without a refund.

Please be respectful of other guests and all shared spaces.
