Gagaka Rua hostel is a beautiful period colonial house, located in the heart of the historic center of Santa Marta, a few meters from the bay boardwalk, the Parque de los Novios and the Santa Marta Marina, very close to the stops of buses that go to Tayrona Park, Palomino, Minca and airport.

Comfortable private rooms and shared rooms, two swimming pools, bar, terrace, shared kitchen and large social areas that will make your stay pleasant and comfortable.

Our rooms are designed to offer you a relaxing and cozy stay, we have accommodation for two, three, and four people in private rooms, which have a private bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi and includes breakfast. The dormitory-style dormitories have comfortable beds, private bathrooms, lockers, reading lamps, personal fans, electricity connectors, air conditioning, and breakfast included.

We have room cleaning service every day. The American-style breakfasts are prepared with fruits and products from the region, where you can taste a coffee from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Cancellation Policy: 1 days before arrival.In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are nice and the kitchen area and pool are great too. Highlight for us was breakfast which was incredible and included. Only thing was that we arrived at the property 2 hours before check in and we were made to wait all the way to the minute before we could get our room even though it was ready which we thought was a bit strange. We thought surely we could go in 20-30 mins earlier since we were just sitting there waiting.

Not great for Solo backpackers. Zero atmosphere at the hostel, staff don’t really give you any recommendations on what to do or where to go. Also they are very stingy with the Aircon only having it on during the night leaving when it is VERY humid in Santa Marta. Would never stay here again.
