Piulet Hostel was great! We got the private room which was pricy but that's to be expected. It was quiet at all hours and not particularly social as hostels go-- mostly people traveling together-- but we felt welcome and well-taken care of. The front door is heavy and closes loud in the morning as people are checking out, but earplugs (and marshmallows) are complimentary at the front desk. Facilities were well-taken care of and the kitchen was very well stocked, plus free coffee in the morning!

Clean with decent facilities, nice lounge area. My bunk was by the window in a room overlooking the road, so it was a choice of either enduring sweaty humidity, or someone opening the window and increasing the volume of the noisy bar/restaurants on either side.

Safe and secure, a hostel more geared toward mature personalities. A+ location, A+ staff, A+ atmosphere, A+ cleanliness. My only minor critiques are the temperature at night (sorry, but 24C is not comfortable for sleeping for most people, though I suppose that’s partly cultural), and could probably have more drying hooks/racks on the walls. Truly enjoyable experience
