Central Hostel Philos is a beautiful house built during the colonial period in 1761st newly refurbished meticulously to turn it into a modern guest house keeping the soul of the place.

We have different dorms with Japanese capsule beds concept and private rooms inspirited with the colonial times. Each bed comes equipped with your large locker, comfortable reading light, and ceiling light, those capsules offer privacy, and ample electrical outlets all in your private capsule.

We have a communal area for socialising, and a communal kitchen to serve up meals. The entire area is covered & illuminated to increase comfort for our guests. On the other hand, for all those who are working while traveling Central Hostel Philos has a coworking space with high-speed internet.

Our place has a beautiful garden provide an experience of life in Antigua Guatemala.

Very cute inner courtyard! All facilities were very clean. Breakfast was pancakes, cereal and coffee which was delicious! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Located on the edge of the historic centre but the walk wasn't too far and there were many great restaurants and coffee shops around. The street is a little loud, especially if you get a room with the window facing it but very comfortable beds so would highly recommend!

Some basic hostel amenities were missing - no keys for any lockers and no possibility to use own locks. Also, no keys/security to hostel or room so anyone could walk in and take your stuff. There were no curtains on beds meaning people had to use towels for privacy. Staff were friendly, location was good - fine as a stop over but could be improved with simple changes.

Great location! Rooms were clean & tidy. Front desk staff were helpful. Free breakfast is great & an onsite washing service is available (the staff do it for you). Good if you need a room to stay that is well located, however there is no atmosphere, activities or a common area.
