Uniquely located on the 2nd floor above our very own beautiful flower boutique (Bakung House of Lilies), our hostel offers a fresh, fragrant, and calm atmosphere right in the historical heart of Denpasar. We are not a wild party hostel; we are a safe, highly secure, and comfortable haven designed specifically for solo travelers, digital nomads, and adult groups who appreciate a good night's sleep and exceptional cleanliness.

Denpasar is Bali's ultimate transit and exploration hub. From our doorstep, you can walk to authentic local life, or take a quick ride to the famous beaches.

Walkable Local Gems: Badung Night Market (3 mins), Kumbasari Art Market (3 mins), Kyoto Country Club (5 mins), and Bali Museum (12 mins).

Quick Rides to the Coast: Sanur Beach (17 mins), Seminyak Square (24 mins), Canggu (27 mins), and Ubud (42 mins).

Transit Made Easy: Ubung Bus Terminal for Java transits is just 6 mins away, and Ngurah Rai Airport is a 28-min ride.

The Romantic Terrace: Our common area features a beautiful veranda that serves as a co-working space, kitchenette, and dining area. It's the perfect spot to catch the sunrise with your morning coffee.

Spotless Dorms: We take cleanliness very seriously. Fresh bedding, comfortable mattresses, cold AC, and sensory-activated lights ensure a premium rest.

Fast Wi-Fi: Reliable and fast internet in all areas for our digital nomad friends.

The People: Hosted by Martin. We are here to make you feel like you are staying with friends, not just at a hostel.

GOOD TO KNOW (Managing Expectations)
We believe in complete transparency to ensure you have the best stay:

Access: We are located on the 2nd floor, accessible via a ramp/stairs (no elevator).

Eco-Conscious Showers: To support energy conservation in Bali, our water heater is turned off by default. Need a warm shower? Just ask our staff, and we’ll activate it for you instantly!

Lockers: We are a new, growing hostel. Currently, we do not have individual lockers installed (we are working on it!), but our property is highly secure, guests are given keys, and we have a very safe environment.

Not well signposted although it is located in the heart of Denpasar. Owner is helpful in giving advice and direction. Poor vibe as I was the only guest. Somehow, tourists just do not stay in Denpasar but opt to focus in other places. No breakfast although I was sure it was mentioned otherwise during the booking. Nice hostel to stay for a night or two if you are visiting to nearby Sanur.

I loved this hostel! Perfect location next to the coolest things in Denpasar. Free water, coffee and tea. Very safe, clean and comfy beds. Martin, the owner is the coolest person you’ll ever find, full of funny stories, I really had a great time talking to him. Also he can suggest many places to eat and visit in Denpasar. 10/10 I will be back!

I'm so glad I stayed at Golden Cage! I truly got to see another side to Denpasar away from the Bali tourist crowds. It's located in such an interesting heritage area and Martin is an incredible host. He gave me amazing food recommendations and was generally so kind and helpful! The nearby Puputan Badung Monument is fascinating and the surrounding park is so nice to walk around. The hostel facilities are neat and clean, the place has some nice balcony spaces to hang. Thanks Martin and good luck!
