We’re Lucky U found us, read this carefully before booking your stay!
Wondering about the 23+? No worries if you’re younger. We built Lucky U as a social hostel not a party hostel. Grab a beer, a cocktail or multiple, but looking for cheap shots and no quiet hours? No judgement, we were once like you, but then we recommend coming back in a few years. Grown to appreciate a little more comfort and everyday social activities? U’re more than welcome.
Our beautiful Ahangama is getting busier and busier, that’s why we choose the jungle and paddy field over the noisy main street. Here we show, as the biggest hostel in the area, that premium comfort does go hand in hand with the most social experience. You might arrive alone, you’ll never solo!
*Don’t worry, the tuktuks, bikes or even bus still takes you to the beach in 5 minutes. But if you want to stay on the busy main street, our place is not for you. Of course, you’re still welcome to hang at our pool, grab a beer and try our amazing kitchen!
For backpackers, by backpackers
During our own travels we made so many friends for life, connections always first made in hostels. From Amsterdam to Tokyo and Medellin to Ahangama. That's the privilege of traveling and that's why we'll do everything we can to make connections that last long after U left us. After seeing the insides of hundreds of hostels on all corners of the world and experiencing the beauty (and the slightly less charming sides), we said: Let's build our own dream place!
