About

Intermission Hostel offers a unique combination of the cheapest bed in Bergen centre and a cosy atmosphere close to town! The hostel is within walking distance from both the train station and the main bus station (the airport shuttle travels to and from this station). The hostel is also a 7-minute walk to the city centre which includes the famous fish market and Bryggen. Our hostel is within walking distance of several scenic mountains including Mt. Fløyen. The highest mountain in Bergen, Mt. Ulriken, is accessible via a bus that stops right outside the hostel.

The hostel space is charming and traditional. In recent years, the owner has modernized the second floor in a way that combines the old and the new. It is a refreshing style appealing to all ages! We have a very cosy living room for your use in the evenings; including a comfortable sofa, one long table and several smaller ones. A television and an assortment of instruments are available for your use.

Every evening we offer tea, coffee and biscuits for free. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday night, we serve free waffles in the evening as part of the Norwegian tradition of heart-shaped waffles topped with brown cheese and jam.

Additional amenities include free laundry and a self-serve breakfast for 60 NOK each morning.

Check in time starts at 17:00. If arriving after 23:00, the door will be locked, but you can ring the doorbell to be let in. Checkout ends at 11:00.

We ask that guests refrain from drinking or smoking on the hostel premises.

Intermission Hostel is open yearly from mid-June to mid-August.

We look forward to meeting you!

We also want to inform that our telephone is not operating, however we're reachable on mail and instagram.

Cheap and nice people. The beds are pretty bad, no duvets only blankets. The showers are pretty bare bones and gross, the ventilation is bad so steam and water is sitting in the ceiling, the materials in there is also not water resistant, so a perfect place for mold. No place to put clothes other than a small hook

Showers were very dirty. No duvet but only a blanket, not sure if bedsheets had been washed. It is not clearly said in the description but it’s a Christian hostel, maybe someone would like to know this before hand. Rate goes up with location and nice common rooms.

Very nice location and vibe, for a good price. The beds were decent, though the exit sign did shine light directly on to my eyes in my originally assigned bed (the staff moved me upon request). Bring an eye cover and ear plugs. A decent number of showers (3) and restrooms (3) for the # of guests, though it did get busy in the mornings.
