Generator Venice is a design hotel-hostel located on Giudecca Island just one stop from Piazza San Marco.
Guests can choose from shared dorms to private rooms, offering something for everyone.
Complete with 24-hour reception, free wifi, cafe, bar and views of the Grand Canal.

Venice Access Fee 2026
• €5 if paid at least 4 days before arrival (including the fourth day)
• €10 if paid within the 3 days before arrival
(Required for day visitors on selected dates, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM)

GROUPS
Any reservation of 10 people or more per night will be considered a group with different terms and conditions. Groups reservations can only be made through our reservations team, and Generator reserves the right to cancel it otherwise

PET
We would welcome a dog on property but only when staying in a private room, and subject to a € 25.00 fee per dog per Stay. Only Dog under 30lbs/14kg

Don't forget to bring a valid passport with you, this is mandatory for all non EU guests or valid identification documents for EU guests. As per government regulations, this needs to be the physical passport/ID, photos or photo copies will not be accepted.

Overpriced and very disappointing — the only good thing was the location. I paid €150 for two nights, and the experience was awful. The bathrooms were some of the dirtiest I’ve ever seen and smelled terrible. On my floor, only one shower worked in both the men’s and women’s bathrooms. The downstairs common-area bathrooms also had broken toilet seats. I asked staff to clean the bathrooms and fix the toilets while I was there, but nothing was done. Black mold in the showers, vomit in the sink, a half inch layer of dust on anything over two meters tall. Mixed AGE dorms. Creepy 60+ year old man below me, 40+ year old woman who was constantly walking around topless. Extremely rude bartender. No kitchen. 2 showers and 2 toilets for over 50 people. Have to take a €10 boat to get on and off the tiny island the hostel is located on. All the food they serve is previously frozen. Horrible experience.

I really enjoyed my stay here. You have to get a Vapporetto to get to the hostel but this is really easy even with luggage. I would highly recommend getting a multi-day pass as it’s definitely cheaper. There aren’t any curtains but I was bottom bunk so was able to put up a towel for some privacy. Before I stayed I saw lots of reviews about the showers- I thought this would bother me but it was okay as the glass is frosted. Both times I used the showers no one else was there.

Located just off the main island, you'll have the chance to take in Venice in all its glory from across the water (don't worry, the main island is just minutes away). The staff are great, always ready to go the extra mile if you need anything, and according to one past guest "the interiors are beautiful" so it's easy to forget that you're travelling on a budget.
