The Damhotel is a typical Dutch-style hotel/hostel which is located right in the heart of Amsterdam, just 3 minutes walk from the Amsterdam Central Station.

The hotel/hostel offers rooms for 1 to 10 persons with attractive prices. Our multi-lingual personals are looking forward to serving you and provide all the necessary information about our lovely city. Please note that the reception is located on the first floor of Damrak Street No. 32.

Reception desk staff will be happy to assist you in arranging various excursions including Amsterdam Canal boat tours, exciting trips to the typical Dutch village Volendam, excursions to Madurodam (the Miniature City) and much more.

Was expecting a hostel vibe (shared lounge/kitchen etc) but instead this is just a hotel with beds crammed in each room. No lift- stairs are precarious. There’s no real security around room keys etc so I’d be super cautious about leaving anything in rooms. On plus side, it was all clean, fresh linen, comfy beds and an ok shower (towels are provided) But this is expensive for a hostel- rather you are paying for a hotel with no service.

+: location - very close to the Amsterdam Central railway station, possible to check in very late, room was clean, towels regularly changed. Hair dryer included in bathroom. However, it is on a very busy street, which does not give a feeling of safety. The entrance might feel very sketchy. It is good if you need JUST a place to sleep. The walls are very thin (you hear EVERYTHING). The room itself was ok, reception (+...) looks older. Price: I think you are paying mostly for the location.
