Welcome to The ASH Antwerp — a social, young and home-like hostel right in the heart of Antwerp, Belgium. Since opening our doors in 2013, we’ve been welcoming backpackers from all over the world and bringing them together under one roof.
At The ASH, family is at the centre of everything we do. We believe a hostel should feel like a shared home: a place where stories are exchanged, friendships are made, and you always feel welcome. Our international team is made up of travellers just like you, so we understand what you need, what you’re looking for, and sometimes even what you forgot to pack.
Whether you’re staying for one night or a little longer, you’ll arrive as a guest… and leave as part of the ASH family.

We offer modern, well-designed accommodation to suit every kind of traveller:
Dormitories ranging from 3 to 8 beds
Private double or twin rooms for couples or friends
Premium rooms for guests who enjoy a little extra comfort and privacy

All rooms are clean, comfortable and practical, designed with a modern touch and the social traveller in mind. Whether you choose a dorm bed or upgrade to a premium stay, you’ll always enjoy the same warm ASH welcome.

Perfect location
The ASH Antwerp is ideally located in the city centre:
Just a 5-minute walk from Antwerp Central Station
Right next to the main shopping street De Meir
Walking distance to museums, historic landmarks, parks and cultural hotspots
Antwerp is also a great base for day trips to Bruges, Brussels or Ghent, and a perfect stop between Paris, Amsterdam and London thanks to excellent international train connections.

Important things to know (aka: house rules we all live by 😉)
Check-in & identification
A valid passport, Belgian or Dutch driver’s license, or a government-issued European ID card is required to check in.
The name on the ID must match the name on the reservation. Exceptions can be made if the lead booker emails us at least 48 hours before arrival.

Check-in & check-out times
Check-in: from 15:00
Arriving early? Free luggage storage is available
Check-out: before 11:00
Unauthorized late check-outs may result in a 50–100% daily rate charge

Dorm information
All dorms are mixed unless a female-only dorm is booked.
When booking dorm beds, we cannot guarantee that guests travelling together will stay in the same room. We recommend booking a private room or whole dorm, or emailing us after booking with your request.

Age policy
Guests under 18 are only allowed when accompanied by an adult (18+) and with written parental consent and copies of IDs. If these requirements are not met, check-in will be refused and no refund will be given. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us before booking.

Groups & celebrations
For stag or hen parties, please contact us directly before booking.
The ASH reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone whose behaviour negatively affects other guests. Stag/hen groups must provide a list of participants and a valid credit card as a deposit.

Maximum stay
The maximum stay is 10 days within a 6-month period.
For longer stays or bookings of more than 10 people, please contact us directly — our Groups Team will be happy to assist.

Extras (because travel brains forget things)
Towels for rent at reception: €2
(Included in all private and premium rooms)
Padlocks available for a €5
(We recommend bringing your own — ours are limited)

Breakfast
Breakfast is not included, but available at Bar ALMA:
€10 for the breakfast buffet
€5 for a small breakfast

Terms & Conditions (the serious-but-necessary bit)
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 5 days before arrival (if refundable).
The same applies to date changes. No-shows will be charged 100% of the stay.

Non-refundable bookings
Charged immediately after confirmation. These bookings are non-refundable and non-adjustable. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged in full.

Force Majeure
In the event of force majeure (government actions, natural disasters, transport interruptions, etc.), the hostel cannot be held liable. Full payment remains due, but alternative dates will be offered.
