Put me in a room with all men (I was the only female), asked reception whether any women were checking into my room or if they had one they could swap me too and they were very unhelpful

We stayed for one night in this hostel but did not have the best experience. The room stank so much of feet, it was really bad and it was not really possible to open the window so I had to keep the door open for 10 minutes which unfortunatly did not help... Also the kitchen was very dirty and there was no place to sit down and eat because the dining room was like a pub that sold burgers so it was not possible to sit there and eat cooked food.

I would not recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. I was placed on one of the top bunk beds which had no plug sockets for me to charge my electronics. All of the plug sockets were on the bottom bunk beds and there was only one other socket on the other side of the dormitory. I plugged in one of my electronics to charge overnight, the next morning it was gone. As for lockers, they were underneath the beds which I've not seen before. I will not be coming back to this hostel again.
