Blue Diamond Hostel

Don’t really have much good to say host was extremely rude regarding a bike rental and really soured the trip. Will not be coming back anytime soon.

We stayed in a double room with a fan (no AC). This isn't usually a problem but the fan was very ineffective, and the curtains were so sheer, light/heat would come in and make it very hot. The room was a good size & not too expensive. But we were disappointed by how unavailable & unfriendly the staff were (eg we weren't given any information upon check in). We don't normally leave negative reviews but have to be honest about our experience here.

Their swimming pool is great - when it’s not green with algae. Booking without the app was more expensive, despite HostelWorld taking a percentage when using the app. I have stayed there three times, over three years. Each time was worse than the last. When I wanted to stay one extra day, they insisted I stay in the fan dorm, not the AC dorm, because it was too expensive to have only one person. The final straw was when a long-confirmed booking was denied because the app “overbooked.”
