This hostel is the most comfortable hostel in Auckland. I stayed 2 another hostels but that was not good. One was bed and sheets were not clean. Or another big hostel was noisy because people don't care anything. However, this hostel is always clean, stuff are friendly and polite. I can talk to respectful people who are from all over the world. I love Hobson Lodge.

Place smelled like garbage, no paper towels in the bathrooms just TOWELS which is gross. Great location but I did not enjoy how I felt there.

Overall, a good, typical hostel. comfortable beds, privacy curtains, hot showers and kitchen and communal bathrooms clean and tidy enough. the lady on the desk was really lovely! Plenty of storage in the rooms. I didn't find the vibe very friendly, and there was lots of corridor noise late into the night, but you don't really notice once in the dorm. Not a bad place to stay in Auckland.
