Safestay Naples Materdei

The hostel is near a metro stop which is great, and the rooms and facilities are clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately I have 2 complaints: 1) I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm in July, and it was so hot at night that really nobody could sleep. The windows were wide open and the hostel had provided fans, but still there was too much humidity and heat. 2) the items rented or sold are too expensive. $1 per tampon when pharmacies sell a pack of 24 for 4€. 4€ to rent a towel :(

The only good thing of staying here was the concierge Domenico. The room was so hot - much hotter than outside we saw many people sleeping in the lobby because it was cooler than their rooms. In the morning we bought allegedly fresh croissants that tasted sour and rancid. When we told the concierge (not Domenico) that they tasted off he suggested that I didn’t know what a croissant tasted like which is insanely silly as it’s bread and there was offer of a refund. I will not be back.

Good place
