Mayflower Hospitality Hostel

It was a bed and a roof over my head. Was not expecting to be sharing my room with a mentally ill homeless woman. The doorbell doesn’t work so when you get there you just have to hope someone sees you to let you in. Also the keycard access for the door is tricky, you can’t touch it with your card you have to hover it over the reader. The bathroom situation is interesting. Filthy, dubious locks, unisex. Quiet hours were not enforced so it was loud well into the night. Room was tiny and hot.

Terrible experience. The staff made us feel unsafe, attempted to enter our room plenty times without knocking and showed no concern for our safety as women. The place was filthy, they overbooked and left us stranded outside with no refund at 3 am! When we called the manager, he hung up on us and refused to take responsibility. Absolutely unacceptable. I do not recommend this hostel.

Mayflower Hospitality Hostel near Howard University Washington DC is conveniently located close to the green line. There is great dining close by. Issak was very helpful in accommodating me and my needs. Bed was comfortable and close to the shared bathroom. No TV in room and window would shut but not lock. It was bothersome that residents would go out on the roof next to my room and smoke. Would stay again in the future.
