Perfect place to stay as a budget traveller. Very cheap, but still very clean. Extremely friendly host. Basic facilities, but everything you need - bed, shower, kitchen. Very friendly people, both staff and guests. 100% recommend if you’re trying to save some money.

I love this place so much it’s like a home, Shashi and Gayantha are so so friendly and happy to help with anything , got to make so delicious home made dinners, so welcoming and easy to chill and chat to others , pretty close to Kabalana beach! In a quiet street not to chaotic , close to the bus stop if heading to other places which is amazing.

The stay at R Backpacker hostel in Ahangama was quite possibly the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The property is situated in a large plot of land with lots of trees and a dog. The building in itself is neat, the beds are tidy, and the common areas for travellers to hang out together are well laid out and offers a very relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of the stay, however, are the two people who run it. They were extremely accommodating, friendly, and genuinely interested in ensuring you have a comfor
