Great cozy hotel and the workers are very friendly. Didn’t feel unsafe during my stay even though the location might be a bit sketchy for some travelers. Workers were so sweet and they made breakfast for us at 5:30 upon our request because we had to catch the bus to Monteverde at 6:30. We didn’t have any colons yet so the receptionist told us that we could take a shower in the room and pay later during the day, which was so nice!

A useful location for getting to the bus stations, but there are probably nicer areas if you are staying longer in San Jose. Saying that, the hostel itself was good, we felt safe, breakfast was really nice and staff were helpful.

Sergio and his staff were all wonderful! I also enjoyed the assorted guests I met at breakfast! All were so fascinating : ) Back to the staff, the female desk manager (forgot her name) helped me in getting my lost cell phone back (lost it on the TUASA bus from the airport!) from another bus passenger who found and kept the phone. I loved the breakfasts: delicious and filling! Sergio also accommodated my need to leave some luggage behind when I went to a workshop in La Fortuna.
