Enjoyed the little balcony in female dorm. A/C was too cold, but the bed was fine. Well equipped kitchen. Supermarket just around the corner. Easy walk to historic center.

Felipe and all the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful! Location was super handy to many wonderful sites and the house itself was full of character. Kitchen wasn’t always clean and seemed to lack some basic items that would have made serving good easier, but lots of great shared food items and spaces for food storage! Mattress on bed was very saggy but otherwise private room was great. Shout out to Joycie the med student for her generous banana case gifts. Fun souvenir. Love Freida the dog!

I thought the neighborhood was a little sketchy - I did not want to walk around there at night, so I only took Ubers to and from the hostel. Uber rates are super low in Brazil, less than public transportation in New York. The room was kept clean, there were no problems. It was a fine place to stay, no frills.
