Seoul has an extensive, safe, and clean subway system that can get you essentially anywhere you need to go. The bus system is slightly more confusing for visitors but also offers over 400 routes, so there are plenty of ways for you to get where you want to go! There are two types of taxis- regular (ilban) and deluxe (mobeum). Backpackers will most likely want to take the regular taxis as they’re much more affordable. Nothing beats getting to an area and exploring it by foot, consider planning your days so that you can explore nearby districts by foot before heading back your hostel!
