Don't listen to the negative reviews! This place was lovely, the staff were super helpful and overall the place was very clean. The garden area was a great place to chill at the end of the day and the rooms were spacious with clean and comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend to other backpackers as this place is hidden gem and i hope they continue to grow as a business!

I stayed at Posada Atacameña in November and was very surprised by the quality of the place and the location. Although very simple, like most hostels in the area, everything is well organized and very safe. The hostel is a 5-minute walk from the center and close to the local markets, making everything much easier.

We did not have the same experience as that person in February of 2025. The receptionist as well as the lady working there were both very nice and helped with tipps for the region. We stayed in a private room which was very cute and clean. But yes, you only get one key per room, which is very normal in our experience. The kitchen and the courtyard are well maintained and clean. The only thing that could be added are towels for the hands in the kitchen :)
