West Beach Hotel

My stay was okay. Spacious room and the staff were nice and helpful. Very well located. The lounge with the sea view is actually being refurbished (?), not accessible anyway and has not been for a while apparently. I thought it wasn't really honest to advertise the hotel as if it was still in use. There isn't any proper kitchen the clients can use, only a microwave. It's ok if you don't plan on cooking. Complimentary tea and coffee were appreciated.

Staff here were super friendly, helped me out finding my room and with advice and also seemed to remember who I was which I imagine is difficult with so many people coming and going! Location is amazing hostel looks out across seafront with a great view of the old pier and a short walk to the laines. Whilst the rooms themselves are key card access, security at reception could be better. It all felt very clean to me and the rooms were really nice, spacious and trendy.

Great staff, nice place and I liked the location. I don't like that you're pot luck with the (very different) dorm beds e.g. exposed single vs bunk with curtain. Charging points weren't ideal either. Would stay again for a cheap bed for the night, but would hunt about a bit more if staying for longer to see if I thought I could do better. Still hate that we have to rank 'atmosphere' on these things - what does that even mean? Some people want peace and quiet, some want something lively.
