9.9/10. LOVED this hostel. I loved staying in El Zonte over El Tunco, the atmosphere is chill - so nice to be there by the beach to surf, swim, hangout or read. Tiny beach town vibe, great hangout areas with hammocks and a terrace, great views, pretty safe, good smoothies. Aldo was really nice and helpful. Only downside is the toilets don't always flush due to water level changes in pipes and there were ants (not bitey ones) near/on my bed in the corner. No ants on the other beds though. The location is great, directly at the ocean and great views. However, the pool wasn’t working at all during the entire time of our stay, the toilets didn’t flush and when it rained during the night it rained into our dorm and onto my bed :( therefor, wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend.. it’s great views but not worth it for the money!

10/10 would come back. Aldo the owner is super friendly and welcoming. I'm very confused with the negative reviews, maybe those people have never stayed in a hostel before so set your expectations that this is a hostel!! Great views and people.
