Misleading listing. No mention that the room had no attached washroom — we were told a shared one was “private” for us, which was absurd. Towels were also denied despite being mentioned on the app. We paid fully at check-in and then were left unsure whether to stay due to these surprises. Totally unacceptable. I had a great stay in Varkala. I initially booked an Ac dorm for one day but ended up staying for a week because it was so comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about local spots to explore. If you are looking for a comfortable budget stay, go for it!

Zebra was one of the best memories of my last year. Loved the time I spent with Vivek and his team. I booked for 3 days but I ended up staying for over three weeks. The place is an old property converted into a hostel. It is accessible to the Varkala cliff and is in a quieter area. The team running this hostel are a bunch of talented people who love to travel and embrace new experiences. Do book this place if you are looking for an easygoing and calm time in Varkala.
