Crashpalace Backpacker Rotorua

Highly recommended! This is my repeat stay here and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially the cute lounge and the hot tub (open until 10 PM). The staff are super nice and helpful. You get free parking outside and you're within easy walking distance to everything in town. It’s clean, comfortable, and has everything a traveler needs. Definitely one of the best in the area!

The room was not the room that was displayed in the photos when I had booked, there was no curtain on the bunkbed and I didn’t have a personal light or charging point like sold. All you could hear was music and the fence banging against the wall all night. The room was either freezing cold or boiling hot each night. The shower didn’t work in the en-suite so I had to use the shared bathrooms anyway. Overall it wasn’t a very nice experience at all.

Good hostel a short walk from the water and centre of town. Beds were a bit small but had a good setup. Hostel overall felt like it needed a bit of work (some of which was happening during our stay). They had a hot tub, but it wasn’t hot. One of the kitchens is well stocked. Hostel was clean except for a poor smell in one of the hallways. Very humid in the rooms. Showers need a space to put soap and more hooks.
