Gîte la Montagne is located in the heart of the woods, 5 minutes from the centre of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

The hostel offers shared accommodation with free parking and a large green area. There is also a kitchen with all utensils.

Cancellation policy: 1 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check in from 17:00 to 22:00 .
Check out before 11:00 .

Payment upon arrival by cash only.

Room 2 shouldn't be allowed. A room with 4 extremely large beds on the floor to sleep 12 people isn't a pleasant experience. Crowed and dirty. I would have paid more for a normal hostel room.

We were there in November, so there weren't too many people around. There was no staff in the hostel at all, but the front door was always open. We had to call a number that was in the reception for someone to come and check us in. It is a rustic cabin, which is what you would expcet from a hostel in the mountains, but you shouldn't expect it to be too confortable. It's about a 20 minute walk from the city center of Chamonix, which was ok, but at night it would get really dark and a bit creepy

Didn't like it. We stay in a 12 guest room, with no option to sort our stuffs, so everything on the floor. The bathroom are small and only 2 (woman and men) for more or less 50 people. The house itself had not ventilation, everything feel tight. The Kitchen is the only good thing, with many pot and pans to cook, anyhow the fridge were too small for so many people. For one night could work, but for a long term stay it's not a good option.
