La Selva Hostel

Location was very close to train station with 3 lines, very convenient and also loud at night. There was also loud music playing until around midnight inside the courtyard. Showers smelled musty, looked like black mold on the walls of one of them. My bed had a warped metal spot that popped every time I moved. You had to ask someone to let you in/out of the property each time which was a little annoying. Aside from that, I really liked the decor, one of the most unique hostels I’ve stayed in.

I absolutely loved my time at La Selva. Javier was amazing and I felt so looked after - from the airport transfer to the free breakfast every day and tips and advice, he made sure I had a great and safe time in the city as a solo female traveller. The hostel was quiet but still very social with lovely people open to doing things together and to be honest the little oasis of a garden outside was lovely to relax in after a busy day exploring! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Gracias!

Very clean, the female dorm was nice. Breakfast was yummy everyday: eggs, ham, toast variations. I would recommend ear plugs, and the door needs to be opened by the workers every time you enter or exit which can be a bit tricky when you have an early tour but it feels very safe which is appreciated. There is a metro right beside which makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. A grocery store also super close. And a floating garden pathway into the historic center.
