Pretty standard hostel, ok facilities and clean rooms/kitchen. No social atmosphere and slightly old fashioned feel, a bit of renovation might be a good idea. Staff were friendly but didn’t really speak English so communication was a bit challenging. Front door was locked before 4pm so I couldn’t store my bags anywhere before checking in

Always a great place to stay. Very very clean. Thank you for that. Just one area I wish management could address. The guest property is very important to us so we need a proper lock box for leaving our gear in residence for the day. I had no incident happen but better security would be much appreciated. I enjoyed my stay here over the weekend and into Monday, the coffee and water was free and Nanaimo had good tap water. Laundry was available but I was also visiting a local who let me do my laundry at their apartment. It was mostly quiet in my room, but like any Saturday night there were people partying and talking loudly in the hallway for about half an hour at 3:30 AM. Eventually after enough people banged on their doors to get them to be quiet they went to bed and I was able to get some sleep after that.
