I had a great stay at Masaya ! The hostel is beautiful, especially with the pool area. The people working were one of the kindest I met so far. :) The dorms were a little dirty but nothing too bad. Unfortunately, I didn't feel safe in Santa Marta as a female solo traveller. It has nothing to do with the hostel, they lock the doors etc., but just be aware when you go out at night.

This place is mostly well maintained and conveniently located for travel points like the bus to Tayrona and the bus stop from Cartagena. The bar is good but the pool area got slippery and our friend fell on the steps coming down. Room itself was mostly good but the bathroom did have a mouldy smell. The vibes were good though

I had a great stay at the Masaya in Santa Marta! The building is beautiful, with a lovely rooftop terrace where you can cook, play pool, swim or just relax. The rooms are also very comfortable and have air con, only negative thing I have to say is the bathroom was tiny and felt very cramped for 6 people. Shoutout to the girls behind the desk who kept my sunglasses when I lost them, and let me come collect them a week or so later!
