If you’re a solo female traveller, I suggest booking the female dorm to feel more comfortable. I was in the mixed dorm but there was only one other woman. The 12 bed dorm gets very hot in the summer, the aircon only comes on at night but it barely makes a difference, hence a very uncomfortable night’s sleep. There isn’t a nice common area which makes meeting other travellers difficult. Location is great though and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Perugia is a wonderfully city, but such a shame this is the only hostel in town. 12 beds in a very small room, aircondition not working in 36 degrees, found a half naked man sleeping in the common kitchen when I arrived. I planned to go on a daytrip til Assisi and spending the night there before returning to Perugia (to the same hostel) but I had to pay for luggage storing as if I was not a guest (Since when do you need luggage storing if you already are a guest and have a room?). Not recommend.
