Positive side is the location, rooms and free dinner. Short walk to everything and the rooms are airy, although the bathrooms are in need of an upgrade. Downside is the staff, management attitude and how people are distributed in the rooms. The staff (especially kitchen) is extremely rude, the all female jelly wrestling signals an attitude towards women that doesn't belong in this century and staying in rooms where people have been living for 3+ months isn't just hard socially, but also dirty.

Very good hostel but needs shower updates and removal of the lizards

Loved my stay and extended my time here. Only couple of things is bathroom gets very dirty with no bath mats and rooms are almost always kept open with people walking thro ifh so definitely buy yourself a lock for your valuables!! Good free meals in the evening

Really good hostel. Very central and a really cool bar that also has a lot of locals coming in. Really good idea with the free dinner cause it gets everyone together and makes it easier for people to socialize. Also a really good travel desk with really sweet helpful people. Amazing prices at the bar each night. I was even so lucky to win a 3 day open water scuba diving course! Definitely worth the money. The only thing that was a bit annoying was that you had to pay a deposit to get cutlery etc

LOVED this hostel. Amazing location right by the beach and loads of good places to eat. Rooms are lovely, really airy and spacious loved the rooftop seating areas with the hammocks too. En suites are tiny could be a bit cleaner. Staff really nice and helpful. Such a good night at the bar, drinks are definitely reasonable price. Free luggage storage which is always good. Kitchen could use a bit more equipment and be a bit cleaner but that's mainly backpackers not cleaning anything up!

Internet/Wifi was wether not working or really slow

Our room was awesome, huge, good facilities and very clean. Probably one of the best private rooms I have stayed in for a backpackers. Free dinners; its not really a free meal if you have to buy a drink, very sneaky! But it does create a good atmosphere in the bar around dinner time. Staff are lovely and very welcoming. Hostel location is awesome, so close to the beach and only a short walk to the bars and shops.

Free drink on arrival. Free dinners (specific food for all each night, but pretty decent). Good atmosphere. Pretty easy to walk into someone else's room if doors unlocked as rooms are off the driveway and separate to bar/main areas. Kitchen is huge with everything you could possibly need. Pool is small but with a beach so close who cares!

A wonderful hostel, just a 3 minute walk to the main road and the beach. Rooms are secure and lockers are provided, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to pay a $20 deposit for the key and a $20 deposit for kitchen dishes, but you'll get both deposits back at the end of your stay. You also have to pay for wifi that wasn't working when I stayed, but a lot of places nearby offer free wifi like the library and cafes. Bathrooms get cleaned everyday, and they're room-adjacent.

Had a great stay here. Room was large with a great bathroom. The bar is lovely and serve great food, the $4 dinner is also worth the money! Only grumble would be the reception staff (not all of them) but they could do with smiling once in a while. Not the friendliest or most helpful bunch.

One of the worse hostels I have ever stayed at. First, everything there is extra, you have to pay 20 DOLLARS deposit for terrible cutlery, 2 dollars for internet A DAY, etc etc. Then, in my room the fan was almost falling down and I had to move rooms and the staff didn't even wanted to change it. When I tried to take my deposit key back (20 dollars) the staff said that in the computers I had already taken my deposit back (wtf?) what was completely unlikely. Staff very rude.

Don't think twice..definitely stay here. We never wanted to leave!

Great hostel, loads of friendly people, plenty of space and very chilled atmosphere.

Great Hostel, more like a hotel! Very clean although showers could do with an upgrade! I loved the box of cutlery hire it was a great way to ensure everyone has what they need and the kitchen facilities where great! Loads of places to hang around, only downside is the loudness of the bar ruins the TV Room!

Would stay elsewhere in Byron. Most people work in the hostel and the bar isn't very good.
