About

Arts Factory by Nomads is Byron Bay’s original backpacker playground — a legendary hangout for 18–35s from all over the world.

Set on five acres of lush tropical gardens, just a 10-minute stroll from the beach and town, this is the place to meet new mates, soak up the sun, and dive into Byron’s best nights. Stay your way — from funky dorms and unique teepees to private rooms if you want your own space.

By day, grab a coffee at the café, stretch out with yoga, or chill by the pool. Challenge someone at volleyball or ping pong, then kick back at the Arts Factory Garden Bar, where you can enjoy tasty, affordable Mexican eats.

By night, the bar comes alive — with DJs, karaoke, trivia, epic themed parties, and Byron’s biggest backpacker nights. Don’t miss the legendary Monday Talent Show, hosted right in the bar, where anything goes and the crowd goes wild.

Looking for the real Byron Bay backpacker experience? This is where it all began — wild, welcoming, and totally one-of-a-kind.

It was lovely to stay, everyone seemed nice, the staff were amazing. 20min walk to the beach. Only 2 things that let it down, was the kitchen, it was dirty / smelled all the time and our cube bedroom walls were covered is all sorts of stuff. It was a comfortable environment.

Good social atmosphere. Would not stay again as the rooms were boiling overnight and the kitchen/fridges were disgusting.

The hostel has a cool vibe and the dorms are nice and hippie/unique, but I would not stay here again. There are only two bathrooms, located on the same side of the building, and my first dorm was all the way on the other side of the site. There are so many people who use the facilities who are not actually guests, so the kitchen is always busy and dirty. It’s quite a walk before you’re in town or by the beach.
