Nice location and staff were friendly. The only problem I had was my laundry was not dried by the time I had to leave in the morning so I got a bag full of wet clothes even after the girl at reception told me she would make a note that it had to be done by a certain time.

We had a room with a double bed ensuite, room was tiny, clean, but mold around the window, it was always damp in the room nothing really ever got dry (clothes, towels, etc.) and ireland is wet and windy!!! Heat was was on a timer and only came on at 7pm for about an hour :( - it was cold!!! We payed $40 for the room and i would have expected a little bit more. We cancelled part of our stay we got the money refunded with no problems, the staff was very nice. maybe we are just not hostel people?!

I believe barnacles has a thoughtfully arranged living space and Id say the sitting room is art deco designed. Upstairs the kitchen is well equipped though they will have to change the hobs at some point in the future.I can see they put allot of time into the paintings on the wall of the kitchen and the down stairs whats on board. The breakfast is first class.

Because of this hostel and those working in it, Galway was the highlight of my trip to Europe. I can not wait to go back!

I had an amazing stay here! It's situated in an ideal location; close to shops and pubs. And while there is a very lively pub right across the way, I didn't find it too loud to sleep. The staff were absolutely wonderful - very friendly and extremely helpful! The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The kitchen was ideal for cooking your own meals; spacious with plenty of storage space. The free wi-fi was nice! And the information board in the kitchen was a perfect reference tool!

Perfect location!! Good facility!! Huge kitchen with multiple ovens, stoves, sinks so cooking was very simple. Amazing staff!! Both Danny and Sean were super helpful. We've toured Europe for over 2 months, and by far, the best staff we've come across! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

This was a great place, stayed in two different rooms both were rather cold but that was easy to get over. the location was on the main strip. I have nothing bad to say, the staff were great and the common room was great not too big, breakfast was good.

Great location in the heart of Galway's social scene, friendly staff and good facilities. Nothing fancy, but it's everything you want in a hostel!

Enjoyed a fantastic weekend (with two friends) in Galway and I can honestly say that Barnacles Hostel played a major part. From a very warm welcome by reception staff on arrival, an ideal room (104) which was clean, airy and ready. But the best bit is their location which you could not get better and gives Barnacles the brilliant atmosphere and fantastic vibe. Top marks to all and we will be back. Best Regards, Kenny Byrne Dublin

The two lads who work there in the morning/ afternoon are so nice! I'd probably recommend it just because of them honestly

You all should expand your breakfast options. Just bread is unexeptable based on the price you charge. You should also turn up the heat in the rooms.

Great place and clean, but the ominous green light of the sign shined into my room making it difficult to sleep. Darker drapes would be a plus.
