We have full self-catering facilities at Woodquay Hostel, which is ideal if you are on a budget. You can use the fully equipped kitchen to cook for yourself. We can also take care of your laundry and rent towels. We're an historic building, and don't have an elevator.

We are friendly & helpful and know Galway like the back of our hand.

New in 2018 we have a separate 2-bedroom house that sleeps 4 guests (up to 5 on air mattress). Woodquay Terrace is in an ideal location for exploring Galway, just a stone's throw from Eyre Square. It's a lovely, bright & airy home with 2 large bedrooms and 2 outdoor Patio areas. Perfect for exploring Galway on foot and close to coffee shops, restaurants & bars.

The question was 'would you sleep with us again?' - but I didn't (sleep) all night! The mattress was too hard, the pillow too thin, and the bedding too hot! (I used the quilt cover as a sheet instead.) And my bunk-mate complained there was a (old, male) guest who was farting and snoring as well! Luckily I had my ear-plugs in. But apart from of all that it's a nice place.

Probably as good as a hostel can get. The disadvantages are really due to just being a hostel, i.e. shared rooms. In Ireland they do use some locked metal cages underneath the beds to keep your stuff. Although safe it's not very convenient to have to slide them out of the bed everytime you want to access something and they are very noisy. Wooden cupboards would be much better and could be built as part of the beds as well without requiring extra space. Good kitchen and basic breakfast/tea/coffee

Great stay, I was in a female only dorm. Room 9, I got the top triple bunker but it wasn’t too bad. there is not lots of locker space for any of the beds, I was okay with leaving my carry on out next to the window. My room was only cramped when everyone was in there at once. But for the most part it was empty thru the day. There are no outlets in the bathrooms but there is a sink and mirror in one of the hallways that’s perfect to do hair. The showers were nice and hot.
