The wifi was patchy at best, and barely worked in the common area(the only area it's available). The hostel didn't say it was an international youth hostel, and the staff did not ask if we were members, as such we missed out on our member benefit. All the food and drink was overpriced, in a city where everything is overpriced. We contemplated getting the fast train to Beijing just to avoid the hostel and Shanghai in general. They couldn't guarantee the same room for groups in dorms.

Dear guest, Thank you for your review of our hostel. 1. We only provide wifi in the common area for dorm and there is private wifi in the private rooms. 2. We have Hosteling International Sign out of the building, even though it is quite small. 3.Hope you understand of the price like you understand the price of Shanghai. 4. Most of the time we put groups in the same room like you and your friend did. In the busy season it might be difficult for us to do that but we will still do our best.

Really great place in a convenient location that was perfect for our stay! The rooms and WCs were cleaned regularly and had everything we needed, and the lockers were huge which was fantastic! Having a bar right in the hostel was also fantastic! The location can seem a bit sketchy and while very close to the bund isn't that 'happening', so good to keep in mind. Great for travelers in Shanghai overall though!

I repeated this a number of times in reviews for other hostel. The price charged a tiny bottle beer 300/330ml is extortionate and unnecessary, same goes for the other drinks. Making the prices more reasonable would encourage more people to engage in the lounge areas instead of heading out picking up 4 x 500ml of China's finest for the price of 1 or maybe 2 this hostel is charging. We stayed a total of 5 night, washing machine was broken and did not fixed.

Nice hostel and friendly staff. Also close to the metro station and the Bund, can't complain. Recommendable!

Overall, a wonderful place to stay while visiting Shanghai. Very close to the Bund and the metro with a variety of surrounding shops and restaurants.

Staff are very polite and helpful. Rooms are nice; location is great; however the bathroom and shower facilities were always dirty in the three days that I stayed there.

Everythings very good. But it's not convenient if we change the booking for upgrade the room. Deposit that we paid did not replaced for the upgrading room.

Directions to the hostel were unclear, but otherwise good facilities and helpful staff.

Great hostel, excellent location and nice common area. Would stay there again!

Although the room was a bit small (without window), the location of the hostel is really good (next to the famous Nanjing East Road and just few minutes away from the bund or peoples square).

This place is about a 5 min walk away from Nanjing Street, and about a 10 min walk from the Bund. the roof top patio is very large and has a pool table. Ill come back here whenever I am in Shanghai.

It was clean and tidy, just lacked any real atmosphere. The 'good reliable wifi' was a bit hot or miss.

good location, great atmosphere, tasty food, it's in a weird tall building but the hostel itself is very nice and it's convenient to get a variety of places. amazing views of shanghai!

We was supposed to have 2 nights but as our train was delayed we arrived late and our booking was cancelled, when we did arrive they upgraded us to a private room. The facilities are great, the only problem is the wifi, it only works in the bar, which is good because you can meet people. The receptionist helped us to make train ticket bookings by writing all of them in Chinese so we can take them to the train ticket office.

This is one of the better hostels in China. If only they had a kitchen and a better selection of food. Really nothing much to complain about. Close to the metro and East Nanjing Road with all its night life. Lots of other travellers to socialize with.

This is an awesome hostel, it takes up an entire floor of a building that houses other hotels. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. You might think that having most of the floor share a public bathroom would be bad but they are very good with cleaning and there are never any smells. The only thing I could say is that I wish there were an area for people to eat their dinner that isnt from the restraunt. I recommend checking out this hostel.

It's nice place to stay in Shanghai. Very good condition. And staff very nice.

This was one of my best experiences with hostels so far! The location is simply amazing. It's in the middle of everything you have to see in Shanghai. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean. You can even have a normal continental breakfast if you get tired of chinese food, they sell Guinness for 20yuan (and what else do you need?) :)
