D hostel has an excellent location right next to prosperous nanjing east road, while u can find affordable shops nearby.I like d place cos its so clean, comfortable.n stuff r very friendly. The next day in a twin room,well-equipped with hairdryer, slippers,tv,toilets,AC etc. They have a big balcony, where u can enjoy night views and play pools. Also a bar where u can read n enjoy a cup of tea.Just that bar is a bit quiet n not so easy to start talkin 2 new ppl,mb cos rooms r right next.Anyway its cool

We only stayed at the hostel for 1 night as we were on a connecting flight from Australia to the UK. We thought the hostel was excellent value for money and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel and the lady on reception upgraded us to a deluxe room for free as she said the double rooms were near the bar and it would be nicer for us to have a quieter room seen as we had a long flight then next day. The staff were great and the room was great, shame we couldn't stay longer.

Really loved this place. It is unashamedly set up to help and be a travel hostel, s it may not have an especially Chinese feel, but not everywhere can be, hey? Friednly staff, helped us book things to do and onward travel. Fun central area and close enough to where you want to be in Shanghai (if not the most busy area) Definitely enjoy!

Sinks were always covered with water. Even though it's not too bad but leaves an unpleasant impression about cleanliness in general.

The common area is the only place where there is wifi so the only place where you can use internet to talk with friends and relatives who are thousands of kilometers far from you but they put the music so loud that it's almost impossible to talk on skype or other things like that.

It\'s location very good and Staff is very nice.

This was a great place to stay; we liked the location a lot! Right near the E Nanjing Pedestrian Rd& 20min walk to People's Square. The subway station is only a 5-7min walk away! There are a lot of food options nearby that were tasty. The staff was really amazing! They are fluent in English &provide helpful advice. We had problems buying train tickets so the staff wrote us notes in Chinese &that solved the problem! The only con was the sewage smell from the bathroom but that's normal for china

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great bar and common area. Building was a bit tired looking, and immediate surrounds a little dingy, but still very well situated for access to the subway (esp Line 2 which goes directly to Hongqiao Airport) and shopping in downtown Shanghai. Toilet seat in my room had come loose, so some minor disrepair in facilities. But room was clean and looked new. Especially because of the atmosphere and helpfulness of staff, I found it a very enjoyable place to stay.

Unfortunately this hostel was not up to the usual standard, The showers were dirty and the toilets smelt of acidic urine e social area of cat wee, It was not the cleanest of places, It was very noisy throughout the night but I was in the 4 bed dorm so i guess you get what you pay for, no reflection on the staff as they were helpful & friendly although I think it would be nice if you got a free map instead of being charged for one, on the plus side the internet is quick and free.

Overall, I love this hostel. It's near everywhere. The staff are friendly and *speak English*. The baozi store which is a block away from the hostel is the best place for breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rather noisy at night - with people having a loud conversation outside my door at 3 am! They could not understand why I found this unacceptable. Would have preferred an ensuite bedroom - however the communal washing facilities were spotlessly clean.

The best thing about Blue Bund is definitley the location, just by Nanjing Road and walking distance to The Bund. Nice and helpful staff. Didn't have the best commonroom though, everyone is just sitting by their computers. Not the backpacky-atmosphere I'm used to. But afterall it's Shanghai...

Very dirty, rooms aren\'t cleaned daily, there was garbage and dirty clothes all over our room. Not many good food options and the public computers are very slow. Reception service is pretty good, cheap for Shanghai standards, and the best thing is the close proximity to Nanjing East Subway station.

i stayed there for 5 nights in a 6dorm bedroom for female, IT WAS GREAT!!! The staff were always really helpful and patient, all of them spoke english and they always try their best to help you out in anything you need. There are also a lot of information on the reception desks and walls, like hostel broschures for your next china city trip, the train booking, the map and the sightseeing spots, the weather, the train information and the timetable. I HIGHLY recommend this hostel.
