The location of the hostel is perfect and the common area with roof terrasse is nice and cozy. However, the WiFi was super slow and the connection broke down very often. Also the wifi connection was only available in the common area, but not in the dorms. That's ery annoying when you travel around and rely on the hostel's internet for booking train tickets etc. Staff was unfriendly most of the time. Toilets and showers were said to be cleaned every 30 min - they didn't look like that...

Although our short stay (one night) was good, we got back a fake 100 rmb note from room key deposit, which of course we didn't notice before we were already on the train to Hangzhou. Kind of a bummer.

Dear guest, Sorry to hear the fake rmb story. But just to be clear, our money will be checked by the machine. We would not accept any fake ones at the beginning. Could you tell us more details about the money, we would like to figure it out and won't let it happen again. Blue Mountain Bund Hostel

Best social area so far during my travel. Staffs are really nice. The huge barony is brilliant. Just a bit expensive. Well guess you got what you pay for.

Great choice in Shanghai. Very central and super efficient staff. Single sex open showers (instead of the unisex private 'litle boxes') would make the 'morning process' easier and faster.

Nice place, really nice place to chill out and read, research, have a few drinks play pool, whatever you like. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location 1 street away from the main shopping district. Room comfortable and beds firm. Bathrooms very nice and clean, good layout. Wifi shockingly bad, but that goes for China as a whole as well as in particular this hostel.

My girlfriends and I had a relaxed, fun time here! The location is excellent as it is close to two metro lines and a quick walk to Suzhou Creek. We never had to venture too far to get to wonderful places in the French Concession either! The staff went out of their way to give us directions. I live in China and they have the most comfortable mattresses I've slept on in a year. There were a ton of friendly guests there as well. I loved their terrace which our room was right next too.

It is a very welcoming and lively place. It provides as much comfort as a hostel can offer.

This is probably your best bet for a hostel in Shanghai. It is easy to find if you follow directions and is located a 10 minute walk from Nanjing East Road station in the centre of the city. The staff are extremely friendly and will help you with anything. The room was clean with a plug, shelf and light on each bed. There is a nice atmosphere as most people hang out in the central bar area. The hostel could improve the cleanliness of its showers and shared bathroom area. Would stay again.

Staff were helpful sorting out train tickets for us. The map they provided was a bit rubbish but taxi drivers understood if you are out late.

Great location! Met some nice people there. However, there can be a lot of Chinese guests that mingle less with the international travellers. The staff could have been more friendly. Also it is not made particularly clear that the hostel is located on the 6th floor of a big building (at least 20 floors). Despite the good review if I visit Shanghai again I will go to a different hostel.

The room (two bunk-bed with shared bathroom) was rather small. Two beds in a dormitory would be a better choice if I had known earlier that I would not get two twin bed in a room. The hostel is located very near to Nanjing street with easy access to transport and food outlet within walking distance.

Location is perfect. Really good hostel. Unlimited toast for breakfast is a winner. Also Lao Beer bottles in the fridge!

A really good hostel that is easy to meet people in. The outside terrace is awesome with a pool table and plenty of room to chill or relax. The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of them. The only real negative is the horrendous wifi throughout the building. Other than that, great place!

Very clean, security key card for every room. Good social area with indoor and outdoor. People and staff were lovely. The guy behind the bar is very good with computers, couldn't have been more helpful when I was struggling to sort out my flight tickets!

Really nice place to stay, across from a shopping center and subway is only around a 10min walk away.
