Everything is fine there except for the internet (a big problem!). You need to pay £3 for an hour of wifi. Skye is a remote island and even if you got 3G in your phone it doesn't always work well.

The shower facilities could be improved a bit more I guess.

Comparing to many other hostels, Broadford Youth Hostel was old fashioned. First of all free wi fi is a must if you pay that much. Second of all many back packers do not carry hair dryers. As it is not very sunny everyday and considering the average temperature, you should dry your hair after a shower. Third: a tv can be good. As everybody was curious about the world cup or Tour de France. Pluses: I really like the use of the kitchen and the recycling facilities.

there should be wi-fi I never stayed in a hostel, where you are not allowed to enter the room between 10:30 and 17:00, that is a problem and it is not ok as I am paying money for the entire day, not only for beeing allowed to spend the night there (cleaning works in other hostels as well without that rule)

Good hostel with helpful staff. The amenities were good also. We had a vehicle, but would suggest researching this area if you needed to use public transport as it may be a bit isolated. Would recommend and return.
