The Independent Hostel of Portree is situated in the core of the village and you can easily find a supermarket, pharmacy, pubs and other amenities nearby so that was really convenient. We stayed in a private room (3 adult and 1 child) and It was not bad although the room could've been more clean and there was some sort of air purifier machine inside the room that we could not touch nor turn down but that started working every morning around 7 making a lot of noise. Bathroom were more or less ok.

Great and spacious kitchen but a very strict schedule. Terrible shower that doesn’t let the water run, you have to press the button for the water to flow and the release is instant with the end of water flow. Toilets are hard to flush as well and requite a lot of skills to operate.
