Are you searching for a great place to stay in Shanghai, the pearl of the orient, the Paris of the east, city of dreams and adventure? Then look no further than Shanghai City Central Youth Hostel!

Although our hostel is not located directly in the historical (busy, noisy and crowded!) centre of Shanghai, we are conveniently located right next to the Caoyang Road metro station, which provides excellent access to navigate the city very easily and also means you can avoid the tourist traps and crowds whilst still relaxing in style. We're actually called City Central because the hostel is one branch of a chain of hostels in a large group, so please don't take the wrong impression by our name :)

We have a variety of comfortable, clean rooms including ensuites, doubles, singles, and 4/6 bed dormitories, with air conditioning in each of the 150 rooms, as well as a large bar where you can chill-out, make friends, watch DVD movies, play pool, play-station, listen to the jukebox, have a karaoke party, and, of course, drink! :)

We pride ourselves with having excellent modern facilities for every guest's taste and our services are of a impressively high standard, so within a very short period we have become widely regarded as one of the best hostels in Shanghai and have gained an excellent reputation from our guests from all over the world … as you can see from our reviews, we're hard to beat when it comes to quality establishments that really know how to cater to travellers, back-packers, tourists, adventurers, family and group parties.

Location Information:

We are conveniently located right next to the Caoyang Road metro station, which provides excellent access to navigate the city very easily. The subway is open from 5:35am until 22:43pm, so if late at night you will have to take a taxi (around 3 euros)

Near the hostel, there is a 24-hour supermarket,bar, coffee lounge, ATM, IC/IP phones. There is also a local KFC, McDonalds, Carrefour, banks and a post office.

What to see and do:

We are sure that you will find that our rooms' size and standard is more than ample for the price. Enter via the large, clean lobby and playing inviting music, and note that our bar / dining rooms are well presented. Although we are not located in a tourist area, the metro is very close and cheap, thus you can avoid the tourist traps and crowds.
