Thank you for helping us out when we needed to get directions and find baggage with the airport. Just two pieces of advice from someone who really loves your hostel, 1) It wouldn't hurt for some of you to smile more and be more welcoming. That's what will truly leave a lasting impression. 2) When faced with 2 people, both speak english and only one who speaks chinese, Please speak english. I know chinese may be your first language, but it alienates the non speaker. :)

Great hostel - not central, but very close to metro line. Metro in Shanghai is ridiculously easy to use! Staff were great when prompted.

Overall a great experience. Third time I stay in the hostel so obviously recommended. People usually complain it is far away from the city center but there's a subway station literally 5 minutes from the hostel and getting around is a breeze. The only thing they could improve is the breakfast (it really isn't breakfast at all), that's all!

Everything was ok, just that it bothered us, that there is no space where we could eat and drink our own food/drink. If you went to their common room / restaurant, you had to order from them...with prices a bit to high.

Owner Comment (Show)
First of all, I am here to apologize to you.We do not force the guests to buy the food in the restaurant, it is a place of business which means we have to make some rules to help the business goes better, So we want the guest to buy the food inside, but you can eat your own food in the lobby or at the front porch of the hostel or anywhere out of the restaurant.. I hope that you can understand us. We wish you have a great trip in China and come back to stay with us again in one day. Thanks.

Stayed in a private double suite with window. Decent size. clean linen with bath towels. Room smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room.

Our triple room was comfy and clean, nice bathroom, but only small face towels and no shampoo and soap. Very poor breakfast, many groups, alot of noice. But - all stuff at the desk speaks English and very helpfull with tourist information. The metro station is nearby, but you have to know when each line ends at nights.

Nice place in Shanghai, but a bit out of the way from most of the tourist sights that most people go to Shanghai to see. Even still, you can jump on the subway (there is a station about a block away) and get to wherever you need to go. This hostel is close to 1 airport (Hongqiao), but pretty far from the other airport in Shanghai (Pudong). Keep this in mind when looking to get into and out of Shanghai via plane.

Proximity to the metro opens up most places in Shanghai to the visitor.

I loved this hostel! We stayed in the deluxe four -person room which was very spacious, with a double and two single beds spread over two levels. There was also a sofa and a TV which made the room feel more like a hotel than a hostel. Most of the staff were really helpful and enthusiastic and it was cool to be in such an international environment. I'd definitely stay here again!

It's not my first stop in this hostel. The big plus for this hostel is the breakfast. Also very helpful staff and pretty good locations(near the subway station).

This is a very big place but it still has a great atmosphere where you can meet fellow travellers in the bar downstairs. Excellent rooms and facilities, all very clean and relatively new. The hostel is easily accessible by subway, just a 10 min walk from the Caoying Rd metro stop. The only remark I have is that the wifi is completely unusable most of the time, even if there's no one in the lobby. For such a big hostel, they should fix this!

Would recommend this hostel; good location (near train) , helpful staff, clean and plenty of great facilities (computers, tours, guides etc.). I appreciated the notices about the Shanghai tea house/ art galleries scams, good to know! Has a bar so nice and social too :)

Even though the location is just so so, the place is very clean and very well organized.

The place is nice, and you get what you pay for as with everything. This was my first experience in a hostel and i must say, i'm very happy with my stay there. The only major thing that bugged was that their internet only works in the lobby and bar but what's worse is that the internet is throttled sometimes, making it frustrating to try and get anything done online. Other than that, everything was great. the staff is friendly and mostly bilingual. it is very close to the metro station too.
