The rooms are great. Wifi works. The location is great. One of my favorite hostels!

Hostel itself is clean, rooms are big, bathrooms and showers are good and close to the metro station. Staff aren't the most helpful and there is absolutely no atmosphere. The wifi doesn work in the rooms so everyone is just absorbed on the internet inter reception area. Hostel has lots of potential but no activities for opportunities to meet other people.

The staff was very friendly and good English is spoken. The hostel bar is nice. My dorm room was very dirty and smelly, but that might have been because of other room mates. The common shower was cobwebbed and in not all too good condition. The common bathroom which us facing the common space lacks a door. Using the laundry machine and drier is relatively expensive and the drier is not really doing its job. Yet the short walk to the metro (caoyang station) is very convenient.

Great staff, great rooms, awesome location. Pricy food and drinks and the showers weren't cleaned at all for a whole week. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay here, definitely coming back again! Shout out to Angela, she's awesome!

All the services in this hostel are excessively overpriced (eg. 20 yuan for using the washing machine). The lobby is extremely small and overcrowded with no place to seat because the internet wifi does not reach the rooms. The English spoken at the reception desk is extremely poor. Drunken people shouted and ran through the corridors, maybe because there is a big pub downstairs. DO NOT rely on the offered tours, they cancel them at departure time without any good reasons.

The staff is pretty nice actually!

Hostel is huge, with a nice cafe/sitting area, I was able to meet great people there. The rooms are less nice, there tends to be a nasty smell in most of the rooms with a noisy aircon. The bathrooms are kept clean.

I had great fun staying here! Bar has a great atmosphere (if a little expensive by China standards) and is a great place to meet people if travelling on your own. Room itself was clean and the bunks very comfortable!! The day I arrived the showers were a bit disgusting (smelt like pee) but that was the only day and I guess you can't help that in a hostel this size.

All but 2 staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful which is the opposite of the promises in the website. The showers were extremely dirty- yuk! And I'm on a 4 month travel round the world and they were probably the worst. Food and drink expensive compared to local amenities. Laundry very temperamental.

the girl work at the bar not so friendly. actually really rude. that disappointed me very much. but the room price is attractive, its good choice for travelers who has tight budget.

The staff Don t sort out the problems, then Don t rent the towels you need to buy to them, the dryer is not working,if you need the computer you need to pay,you need to pay almost for every thing

I find absurd those computers, they're old and most of them doesn't work properly, plus i shouldn't have to pay nothing to use the internet, for sure not 1yuan per 15 min. And the wifi didn't work in my room, again, absurd the staff was great, thought.

The hostel was alright except for some of the staff; especially a kiond of snotty, arrogant guy named Li. Otherwise it was okay.

There are some good aspects but also many bad aspects. The bad: smoking is allowed everywhere, even in the dorm rooms. Toilet and showers get cleaned once every two days so the piss is smellable from the hallway. Some staff members were very nice but some were terrible. Also: laundry dryer works very poorly, two hours of drying yielded wet clothes. The good: short distance to subway. Pc's useable for a low fee.

The staff seemed really occupied and 'none-caring' with fake smiles and didn't wanted to take the extra effort to help us out with some train related things, or even helping with booking an extra night AT City Central Hostel. My friend even left the place, because she was so disappointed.

Stayed here 4 years ago, when there was a free breakfast Location is far out, but quiet. The bar is nice, but the food is over priced and your not allowed to sit there and eat your own food. Unfortunately they allow smoking in the bar area which is a shame, they have a nice outdoor area in the front that could be smoker friendly, otherwise the music is way to loud!! Its not a place to sit in the evening and relax from the big city experience, just one more aggression. Some cool staff!

Very convenient hôtel, but the workers are not polite, never smile, and are very noizy in the morning. Also they dont respect the "do not disturb" tag. All the rest was ok.

Solid hostel within easy reach of all the most popular things to see in Shanghai. It's more like a big hotel but does have common areas in it which travellers frequent. Just don't expect an smaller hostel vibe. Good value for money though.

it would be nice if they had a kitchen, and it would also be nice if they didnt raise the prices that much on weekends
