Very very well run backpackers hostel. Very clean rooms and shower areas. Located right in the heart of the Old Quarter. Excellent security: Bags are tagged when put into luggage storage. They provide all sorts of services, including changing money at a very reasonable rate. However, this place tends to only attract the 18 to 24s and the 18 to 24s at heart. If that is not the sort of crowd you are looking for, go some place else.

BEST hostel with wicked bar staff! We spent 3 nights there before castaway and then went back after they looked after us well. rooms clean a wee bit cramped in a 6 bed but fine, and plenty of showers. downstairs bar area is always busy with good drink deals so never bored, and easy to meet people :) right in the centre of shops etc.

So noisy place.And the wifi never works.

Hotel is nice, good rooms with big lockers, good value for money. It's just not for everyone, you have to be willing to be in a crowded place with lots of noise and a bar mood going on all the time.

Amazing hostel to meet people. I booked in for 4 nights and stayed 7! Great hostel with lots to do right in the old town with plenty of places to eat, shop and drink! It's not to far to walk to any of the sights and if you wanna just laze about the hostel they have Sofia's, DVDs, a pool table, table football and free computer use. Over all a great hostel but the trips they run are over priced... Book through an agent to save some money!

Very good atmosphere! Always something going on. Very clean and staff are helpful too. Did the castaways tour to halong bay...amazing time but definitely not worth $200!! Still something you have to do so do it!!

All the staff are really helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily which is good. The Buffalo Run tour is awesome

Big hostel but I really liked it. Food is great and the Castaways tour is definitely worth the money!

A lively spot, especially for younger backpackers. This hostel has everything you will need from a stay in Hanoi. The dorm rooms are cool and comfortable, the breakfast is tasty and filling and the staff are extremely helpful. I booked a tour through the hostel for Sapa and that was v well organised as well. Would recommend this hostel for backpackers who are looking for a good time in Hanoi.

Excellent hostel, common areas, the bar, the environment, really good!.

Had a great time in Backpackers, great bar and common area with good facilities. Rooms are a bit small and after 7pm the music is too loud in the bar downstairs. Still a must go for any backpacker going to Hanoi, if not for staying at least for drinking.

Save money by taking the minibus into town (only 2 dollars). The hostel is nice and you should know what you are getting yourself into. If you want to meet people and party every night, then look no further. If you want to chill, go elsewhere. Very professionally run with management perfected over the years. Also, save money by eating street food and not in westernized restaurants. Try Pho Voi on a nearby side street.

The hostel is pretty good, facilities are top qulaity, nothing to complain about the hostel itself. They also operate as a tour agency with several options around vietnam, Some of their tours are overpriced by +30$ compared to travel agencies a few meters away, so in case you dont want to do the Castaway Experience, go and look around in other placces for Ha Long bay cruises.

if you are a single traveler this is the place to be as you meet so many people. the rooms are good, maybe slightly cramped. The staff are helpful and friendly, the tours they provide are quite pricey but again a great way to meet people. I stayed here for about a week, good location in the hib of the old quarter, some great street food, restaurants and spa's nearby, the food is quite expensive but there is normally a deal or promotion on.

The Castaway islands tour was one of my best cruise experiences! That's enough!

Location is great, a lot of good street food nearby. It's nice that the rooms have a locker big enough for your entire backpack/suitcase and a smaller locker up by your bed. Also nice to have the free water refills in the hallways. The upstairs lounge is nice, but wasn't too keen on the constant loud music downstairs. We checked in around 9:30pm and couldnt hear anything the staff was trying to tell us because of the pre pub crawl drinking/music going on. Seemed to be a bar night everynight.

The whole staff was so incredibly helpful and nice. I was impressed with the atmosphere as it was very fun and welcoming. They accidentally overbooked one of the dorm beds I reserved, so they gave me the private suite for the same price! Awesome!!

Was very busy while I was there. A well laidout hostel.
