The hostel is very well located and its a very good value for money. However i saw one cockroach the first night in the corridor...!!! Well i guess its part of Vietnam!

Damn good hostel. Best one I have been in so far. Great place to meet people and great facilities. Location is also very good. If you want to have fun while you're traveling, this is the place to be.

I found the local staff more friendly than the foreigners. There was once the wifi was down, when I asked the foreign staff about it, he told me that the wifi has its ups and downs, but it's free anyway, insinuating that i was demanding too much by expecting wifi, when the fact is that i expect free wifi to be inclusive in the 6usd per night. I wasn't pissed about the breakdown of wifi, but rather the poor service attitude from the stuck-up foreign staff. But that's just a one off i hope.

This hostel prioritises the bar much higher than the accomodation. This is fine if you want to party every night, but I found the constant stream of drunk westerners slightly draining by my 3rd night. On the other hand this hostel has a great relaxed 5th floor for those more sober, free travel advice (although slightly biased towards in house tours), good food and clean rooms. Finally, contrary to many other reviews; the Halong Bay Boat tour is less tropical paradise, more dirty beaches.

Booked into 8 bed female dorm but on arrival was put in 12 bed dorm - price is the same for all dorms so no huge loss but would've been happier in 8. This is a party hostel but last orders are at 11 and dorm room was relatively quiet so party can be avoided if you wish. Good value food and drinks downstairs, staff are nice. Rooms really well set up-comfy beds&pillows, charging locker and reading light plus huge underbed locker which comfortably takes rucksack. One gripe -aircon off 10am to 7pm

I didn´t like it, it is not the facility's, everything is super clean, and modern, but it is a pure Party hostel . It seemed to me, as the center to meet for all Southeastasia -Hippster-Party-Tourists. If i can choose i rater life among hippies. I booked the Halong-Bay "Rock long Rock hard Tour" in advance, without knowing that it will be all about drinking and drinking games, you should consider if you real like that sort of things before you go there.

As many people have said before, for the solo backpacker this place is awesome! Always people in the lounge area to meet and the staff organize fun stuff to do at night, and theyre always friendly. Definitely recommend staying here if you like to have a good time.

The hostel was almost too big, so was quite impersonal. Good atmosphere with good activities every evening and excellent tours and travel agency in the lobby. This was let down by it being very noisy until the early hours of the morning, so is not recommended if you need a good night's sleep. Internet hardly ever worked however other facilities such as the lounge were good.

Awesome time staying here. Good location, especially if you know nothing about Hanoi. We booked all our tours here. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic hostel - clean rooms, hot showers, clean bathrooms, full service bar with happy hour and loads of food options. They organize activities every evening and at 10pm the whole hostel goes out together. This is a party hostel through and through. Booked some excellent tours through the tour desk to Halong Bay. Only negative is that they turn off the air con from 11am to 7pm, which is the hottest part of the day.

Very good hostel for meeting people and partying. The bar in the hostel always has things organised and we got free beers on the roof one day :) Staff were not always the most helpful and there were never any towels. Would recommend for solo travellers.

This hostel is for the partying type. If you don't want to meet other travelers looking for parties than maybe you should stay elsewhere. The staff is always around to help you with booking tours and buses and taxis and ready to give you advice.

As a lone traveler I found it incredibly easy to meet people here. It was a little intimidating to begin with as it's such a big hostel with so many people milling around, but I soon got involved with a big night out and signed up to the excellent Halong Bay tour (a booze cruise but with great company, facilities, and even a bit of culture thrown in) where I met a fantastic group of people. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the lockers are huge. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hostel. Especially for the single traveller as the bar makes it really easy to meet people! Clean, secure and cheap. Only downside are the staff at reception (not the tour desk). They don't seem to know what they're doing!

The hostel was really clean and very busy - the place is the biggest hostel I've stayed at in 6 countries across SE Asia. Chances are you'll bump into someone you've met in your travels here. Staff on the front desk were pretty grumpy though and not very helpful.

The layout of the hostel wasn't the best as you had the bar, reception, internet acchess/computers and the place to book trips all in the one space on the first floor. Which was very congested the majority of the time and made it difficult to hear when the music was being played loudly in the bar.

The hostel was really nice in general, but I booked a 6 bed dorm some days in advance and when I arrived they told me, there were only 10 bed dorms available, for the same price. That was kinda bad as well as the fact that the aircon didn't work properly in our room. It's not that the staff didn't try to fix it, but they simple weren't able to. And sleeping in a 10 bed dorm without aircon and only two fans wasn't nice at all.

Great price, location and facilities. The rooms were reasonably clean, but really stuffy and so smelt pretty stale. That would be my only criticism. We did 2 trips which were well organised. The bar area was well set up to meet people - but not too loud if you wanted an early night. So yeh good hostel
