Party hostel. Nice rooms great common area, great staff. Only knock I can say is the coed bathrooms, not a huge fan but that's just me. Hostel was clean and had lots of activities which is nice when your traveling alone.

Good location and facilities, fun environment but only till 11pm. The western staff is good, the vietnamise should learn english. The problem is the Castaway island tour they sell to Halong Bay. It is not worth the money, it is made for you to spend in overpriced booze, and it is good to have fun of course but they dont aknowledge that we arent all gringos, we can have other type of fun. Besides, i was robbed U$S300 in that tour, i found out the day after, the staff isnt trustworthy.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The layout and the entire atmosphere of the hostel exudes a party one. Housing one of the highest occupancy hostels I've seen, they are clean and safe. Staff and tours were also excellent. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hanoi.

Best hostel I have stayed in. The castaway tour is expensive but defiantly worth the money! Doooo it.

Dorms are lovely and clean - nice beds too. You get your own locker with each bed and the dorm doors use electronic key fobs. Most but not all staff are helpful - don't book tours with them as they are way overpriced although you'll def be with a backpacker party crew if you want a more social tour! Private hotel rooms in Vietnam are cheaper than hostels anyway if you're travelling in a small group, working out at $3-4 each rather than a $6 dorm bed here.

FREE BREAKFAST (although limited choices and very small fruit salad). Great atmosphere - everyone is really willing to chat. STAY HERE!

This hostel so great nd many delicious street food. toilet needs to clean often.. At night so noisy because many people party, but its only until 11 or 12 pm. The tour that i booked for halong bay one day very expensive than other tour but with same service :( .. overall i love this hostel, nd will come back when i back to hanoi.

A great place to meet other backpackers. A bustling bar but it closes down around 11 PM so no problem to sleep. The hostel offers a nice selection of trips/tours and a free city tour.

Everything is awesome. so much fun staying here. the only fault i can give it is that the dorm room was a bit too compact for my liking.

Hanoi Backpacker's on Ma May has clean rooms and facilities, comfy beds, lots of luggage storage, and a nice bar/restaurant. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, and I really enjoyed the Halong Bay trip that I booked through them (Christina Cruise). The lounge floor (6th?) is really relaxed and nice for hanging out. My only gripe is that the wifi didn't work in my room, so I had to go down into the lobby to use it. Other than that, I had a great stay!

Lots if nice features like a cell phone charging lockbox near an outlet for each bed. I stayed here two separate times, one if which my room was a bit of a mess with a spill sitting on the floor for a couple days. Pretty loud, either from the street or downstairs. In general a decent large hostel, not the greatest to meet people as a solo traveller

Facilities are excellent! This is a arty hostel though, so if your looking for a quiet place to stay you should avoid!

I arrived around 1 a.m because of flight, however when booking, I told hostel 12:00 I would arrive. When I arrived, they already cancelled my booking and bed were full. So I couldn't stay. Actually it was tough to looking new hostel in the night after long flight.

My friends and I stayed here during the off-season in Yangshuo, when it was a bit chillier. This hostel was in a very quiet and secluded area, so if you're looking for a place to relax and hike it's a great choice. The hostel is a 15 minute walk from Fenglou, which has some great food (Moondance Resort) and opens up to some excellent hikes. The staff who run this hostel are very kind and friendly and one of them came to meet us when we arrived in the village from a taxi, which was helpful.
