Cannot recommend this place enough! Charming building, lovely spacious room and bathroom, perfect location in the old quarter with great atmosphere. Staff amazingly helpful in every way, they even remembered our drinks order and produced a cuppa as soon as we got in from a day in the rain. So sweet, amazing value for money!

Thuan is incapable of running hostel on his own. Room 401 was excellent with balcony but Room 402 was very small and bathroom even smaller. Two single beds pushed together does not make a double. Thuan also lied when he said that we had booked a standard room, when in fact it was a luxury room. He was promising us many things but delivered nothing. The cupboard had no space because it was full with hostel items. We were awoken early by the smell of noodles wafting through the floor.

The host is very friendly. but the only thing insufficient is -- the shower room without exhaust equipment, and the windows can not open.

I give this guesthouse one hundred percent for everything. We enjoyed our stay there and Peter and Tom made us feel very welcome indeed. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they did not try to force any trips on us. A very good experience indeed.

Fantastic Hostel. I was here for Lunar Festival, and they were booked for one of the nights i wanted to extend to (my own fault for neglecting to book online earlier). They organized another place for me to stay, which was just as nice. Breakfast everyday (simple bread, jam, coffee and an omelet), 15 minute walk from West Lake, food places across/down the street, convenience store across the street... Good wifi in rooms (I was on the 3 floor), friendly, clean and great value for a guesthouse.

Friendly and clean guesthouse with A/C (although I didn't need it), free wifi, free breakfast (bread with jam and fried eggs), and a staff that'll bend over backwards for you to make sure you're comfortable and happy. Tom was especially helpful, and sorted me out with Hoa Lu/Tam Doc and Halong Bay tours, train tickets, helped me to find and call a taxi to take me to a medical clinic, and helped find a bar to watch the Superbowl! Thuan was also great. Thanks guys for a nice stay in Hanoi!

The hotel itself is more than adequate to get a good nights sleep. However we had travelled up from the south and the following things let it down compared to the other hotels we stayed in, in Vietnam: Cheap instant coffee, no natural light in double bedroom, bathroom didn't drain after showering, unable to get good local knowledge from the hotel e.g. the fact that the whole of the Ho Chi Minh park is closed 11-2pm. However I would recommend booking a Halong Bay tour with them.

Very good value for money. We had a decent sized double bedroom (tiny window) with a good shower and a lockable wardrobe which was handy. The free breakfast was great-they gave you a fresh bread roll, an omelette and jam. The laundry facilities were great too. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and organised a great trip to Halong Bay for us aboard the 'Cristina'. Would recommend.

Friendly, clean guesthouse in good location near the lake in old town. What really makes this place though is the staff, they are so welcoming and helpful. We were ill during our stay here (nothing to do with the guesthouse!!) and staff seemed genuinely concerned, bringing food to our room and offering to call a doctor. We can't thank them enough! A lovely, quiet guesthouse with staff who will bend over backwards to help.

The best guesthouse we visited in Vietnam! The staff were great, with nothing too much trouble. They invited us to join them for lunch on every day we stayed with them free of charge. I couldn't rate this guesthouse high enough. We will definitely return!!

The guesthouse is as promised: clean, safe, secure, friendly. I would recommend staying there as it is relatively quiet compared to the noise of the Old Quarter. Staff are very friendly and looking for ways to help. That's a drawback in hindsight: every time I inquired about something, I think I ended up paying too much for the help I got. I recommend staying at the guesthouse, but shopping around for tours, tickets etc. I feel I paid too much for the convenience (and blame myself).

Super helpful staff, free tea/coffee made by them and not simply those u have to make by yourself! Staff recommended and helped us book for a Halong Bay trip which was amazing. Great tour guide, nice boat and excellent meals on board. Paid $90 for two days one might cruise on HB which was great value. There're cheaper deals out there but u get what u pay for basically. Hostel was v clean, hot showers as well but no wifi in rm if staying on top floor.
